Amos Lee is ready to take his fans on a journey down to Memphis for a little bit of old school soul on today’s (Aug. 4) Billboard premiere of “Running Out of Time,” from his upcoming sixth album, Spirit (Aug. 19). Lee described the single from his first self-produced album as a “reminder and a recognizing of the impermanence we share here on earth. It’s a playful take on a dark subject, which I enjoy.”
“Lord have mercy/ Lord have mercy on me/ Lord have mercy/ Cuz we’re runnin’ out of time,” Philly-bred Lee sings on the song’s chorus. “Running” comes on the heels of the album’s first single, “Vaporize,” which recently became the No. 1 most added song at Triple A radio.

Lee will tour behind his first release on John Varvatos/Republic Records starting Sept. 6 with a show in Burlington, Vermont.
